Setup Netopia DSL Modem to Hand Out Usable Static IP Addresses

 




 




 




Logon to the Website for your DSL Modem




default username is
admin




default password is
serial number




 




Click Home, Configure, WAN on the Left you will see the screen below, Then Click PPP over Ethernet vcc1









We want to DISABLE NAT as we are going to use the External IP address on the network and prevent a Double Nat Setup.  Uncheck the Address Mapping (NAT) Option and press Submit.









If you You can Go to Home, Configure, Lan, DHCP Server if you want to setup the DHCP Server.  This will be your usable IP address to use.  Most People turn it OFF









Click On Home, Config, LAN.  You are going to use one of your External usable IP address in the IP Address Field









Let make sure the Firewall on the Netopia Lets traffic in to the Usable IP range. 




Click on the Left for Security, Then Firewall, select ClearSailing









 




 




Now we need to Expose the Address which means we are going to prevent the Netopia from having a firewall on these and let us send traffic right in.




Click on the Home, Security, Statefull Inspection, Exposed Address.




Press Add and add the starting and Ending IP that you want to expose.  Then Press ADD




NOW WE WANT TO SAVE EVERYTHING, Press the Yellow Triangle on the Top right and it will save and reboot the Netopia




 




 









 




Change Passoword on the Netopia.




Home, Security, Password.  Type in a new password.  Make sure when you are done you save by pressing Yellow Triangle in top right









 




Diable Remote Access to the Netopia.




Home, Configure, WAN, WAN IP Interface.  Change Restrictions to Admin Disabled. Make sure when you are done you save by pressing Yellow Triangle in top right
